MSNBC Host Keith Olbermann's Dad Dies in NYC at 80

The father of MSNBC host Keith
Olbermann has died in New York City at age 80.

Theodore C. Olbermann was thrust into the nation's health care debate
through commentaries made by his son on television.

Keith Olbermann says the former architect died Saturday of complications from colon surgery.

Theodore Olbermann's wife of nearly 60 years, Marie Olbermann, died last year.

Keith Olbermann had talked on his weeknight cable news show about his father's experiences in the hospital and how his family dealt with them.
Three weeks ago he talked on TV about how his suffering father had
asked to be killed.

Keith,

In this time of bereavement, I pray that you and your family will get the strength needed in order to overcome the throes of sadness that death brings.

You are a strong man, rather fervent in your stance on the issues at hand. I think that is something that you earned from your father, a man who knew how to build and construct, instead of tear down like many who oppose what you stand for.

Stay sharp, and know that IF and WHEN you cry, we all cry.

And this too shall pass.

Keith, I pray for you and your family's strength during this time.. I watch your show faithfully and recently lost my mother and sister within 30 days of each other and a sister-in-law to breast cancer.... I know all too well about the health care system and how we are at a disadvantage.

Keep your faith strong and keep fighting for the cause!!
