I believe the issue isn't that women have become independent, rather that men have stopped stepping up to their responsibilities as men. Do the "men of today" know how to be men or know what it is to be a man? Remember that with each birth of an ind…

"Good Man"

I'm convinced; There's no doubt,
I know who I am.
Some may say I'm a myth, or an anomaly;
But I call myself a "Good Man."

When a woman needs to be loved,
The prototype of her search is me.
When a lesser man breaks her heart,
I am who he claims to be.

For I am the best kept secret;
A gift that some women may never know.
But to a Good Woman, I am a gem;
And only to her will my radiance show.

In her love lies my strength,
And my strength fulfills her needs.
In my arms, she is protected;
And with my heart she is complete.

I am so convinced and there's no doubt.
I know exactly who I am.
For those who will ever inquire about me,
Here stands a Good Man.

"Heard It Before"

She told me that she's been hurt too much,
To ever love again.
Heart broken so many times,
That she doubts it will ever mend.

She said that she has been deceived so much,
That all she know are lies.
Then with a sob she said,
"Crying is the primary use for my eyes."

As I sat across from her,
Gazing into her eyes through the tears.
I then realized that she wanted to be loved,
Just couldn't get past her fears.

That very instant, I wanted to save her, to love her,
Show her there is a better way.
Let her see that I'm a grown man,
Who has out grew the games little boys play.

I then tell her to take a chance with me,
Explaining how I could love her and so much more.
With tear-filled eyes she said to me,
"I've heard that before."

I wrote this poem to because too often I've heard females say that they have been hurt a lot. Some even go as far as to say that they have never had a good relationship. These things happen--but the problem is these women may begin to think that there aren't any good men out there... And even worst, they may miss out on good men because they expect them to be just like their past men. This only makes it harder for the good man to convince a female that his intentions are good and genuine. On one hand, he has to distinguish himself from the imposters who pretend to be what a good man takes pride in being... And on the other hand, he has to try to mend the heart of a female who has been played, used, deceived, and taken for granted so much that she honestly believes that no man will ever truly love her. And what's crazy about that situation is only a good man will be able to accomplish that feat. So in short women, us good men are still out here--I'm just sorry you have to sift through all the imposters to find one...

40 Years From Today

Who would have thought you’d be here beside me,
Love in your eyes as we watch our grandchild play.
Who would have thought our love could be so alive,
Even 40 years from today.

On the 30th year we watched our child get married,
And it reminded us so much of our vow.
Tears filled our eyes as they set out on their journey,
With our love showing them how.

20 years from now, I will just stare at you,
And still see the woman that made me fall so deep.
15 years from now, I’ll still pull you close,
An… Continue

The Endangered Species

What happened to the woman with class?
Please tell me where is her kind.
Maybe she has evolved, gone extinct,
Or maybe she’s just harder to define.

Where is the woman who takes pride in her feminine beauty?
The woman who purposely stands out from the rest?
The woman with high regard for herself?
The woman who demands that same respect?

Where is the woman who can keep a Good Man,
And make that man feel wanted?
Where is the woman who visibly has it,
So there is no need to flaunt it?

Where is th… Continue

Pretend

Your eyes scream you want me,
And curiosity almost always leads to sin.
Infidelity can crumble any foundation,
So to remedy any heartbreaks, just pretend.

Imagination can always act out your desires,
In the sanctity of your mind.
There, no barriers can be placed on you and me,
And no repercussions of any kind.

We could be as intimate as you like,
We could be even closer than your skin.
We could even be together when he’s around.
If only you just pretend.

Our perfect date will on… Continue

The Stranger

Excuse me Ms, don’t mean to bother you,
But I swear I’ve known you before.
You look just like the woman I gave my all to.
The woman I use to adore.

The resemblance is remarkable,
The sparkle in your eyes are the same.
Your voices are exactly identical,
And you even share her name.

But you couldn’t be her.
The woman I speak of vowed to hurt me never.
She assured me that my heart was safe,
And she promised me forever.

Even though our love has past its season,
And she claims to have given her be… Continue

I will tell you where classy ladies are, We usually are home READING and spending time praying for a good man to RECOGNIZE sunshine when she steps into his space. We don't post nasty pics on websits, we don't engage in skanky behavior at the clubs, we can be found volunteering caring for others, we can be found in the library and book stores. We reject trif'n drama and those that bring it. We refuse to date married men or men in serious relationships. We tell the truth and expect others to do the same. We walk among the wickness of the world yet do not let it stink up our personal lives. We go through life acting like we ARE BULLET PROOF as we know the KARMA we create is all good. We go about caring for our family and friends as we know they are the gold in our lives.
