I've suffered from insomnia as well, and I agree with Marguerite about avoiding products with caffeine. I drink mint and chamomile tea, and it helps to relax me. I also do a lot of deep breathing exercises prior to going to bed, and it helps to calm my mind, so I can reduce my stress levels and therefore get a better nights sleep.
